• Increased confidence — natural, non-aggressive assurance

Also noted: "direct emotional responses associated with attractiveness, social comfort, internal peace, mood elevation and contrarily also linked to aggression and anger." The duality of comfort AND aggression at different doses is a distinctive characteristic.

Alpha Dream Molecule A Blind Testing (secondary source)

Beta-androstanol was tested as Molecule A in the Alpha Dream blind molecule testing project on PheroTruth. Key reports:

wiserd (10-40 mcg, detailed multi-day testing):

• Increased focus and task orientation
• "A sort of rearrangement in perception"
• Strong visual brightening at 25 mcg — "Oh my God, that's so blue! Oh my God, that's so green!"
• Calming, mellow, rational mood
• Effects lasted approximately 45-90 minutes
• Extreme drowsiness at higher doses (40 mcg)

halo0073 (~125 mcg overdose):

• Stomach flips, improved mood, increased energy
• Cold chills and headache at high dose (resolved after washing off)

Blind testing consensus:

• Calming, mellow, rational
• Mood improvement and increased confidence
• Reduced social anxiety, increased chattiness
• Enhanced eye contact from women aged 20-25
• Others seem "extra-comfortable" and more open
• One tester described it as "Androstadienone + Alpha Androstenol" with "icebreaker qualities"

Dosage Guidelines

PheromoneXS sells BANOL in concentrations from 2 mcg to 400 mcg per spray (or 5-100 mcg per drop in DPG), and recommends 12.5-100 mcg as the general range for most users.

Notes:

• PheromoneXS range: 12.5-100 mcg (spray); 5-100 mcg per drop (DPG)
• wiserd (blind testing) recommended 15-20 mcg as optimal with ~45 min effective duration
• Aggressive front reported at doses as low as 2.5 mcg — uncommon but noteworthy (per PheromoneXS)
• Custom blenders use as little as 2.5 mcg in multi-molecule formulas

Duration:

• Active effects: 45-90 minutes (wiserd's testing)
• Persists on clothing for extended periods (wiserd noted continued detection days later)
• Very stable in DPG and oil bases due to saturated structure

Concerns:

• wiserd flagged possible vitamin D receptor interference — experienced a "negative tinge" and recommended extremely small doses combined with vitamin D3 supplementation
• Alpha Dream's Chris posted a toxicology concern that led some testers (including dexter) to halt testing
• The vitamin D concern is unconfirmed but worth noting at higher doses
