Overview
Epiallopregnanolone (3β,5α-tetrahydroprogesterone) is the 3β-epimer of allopregnanolone. While allopregnanolone is one of the most potent GABAA enhancers (calming/sedating), epiallopregnanolone has the opposite effect - it selectively antagonizes allopregnanolone's actions.
Think of it as the "off switch" for allopregnanolone.
Chemistry: The 3α vs 3β Difference
The ONLY structural difference is the stereochemistry at the 3-position:

- Visual enhancement, especially at night: Improved ability to see and focus at nighttime. A "do or die" type survival response that promotes automatic quick choices.
- One-track-minded focus: Useful for getting tasks done. Allows focused efforts in a singular, determined way.
- Introversion/seriousness: Can make the wearer come off quite "seriously" if not worn with social molecules.
